This Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java SE is substantially different from the previous Oracle JDK 8 licenses. It includes an entire JRE and tools for creating debugging, testing, and monitoring Java applications. (In the subdirectories bin/) Tools and applications that can aid you in the development, execution debug, write and testing applications are written in Java. In certain cases, there are instances where all functionality is removed until the license is purchased. Demo applications have only a limited function for free, however, they charge for a more advanced set of features, or to remove advertisements from their interfaces. Since the application server can transform JSP into Java servers and must make use of the JDK to build the Java Servlets. For instance, if you’re deploying an application on the web using JSP it is technically only running Java programs within the server that runs your application. In some cases, even if aren’t planning to conduct anything Java development on your computer it is still necessary to have JDK installed. The description also identifies the compatibility issues that may arise during the transition into JDK 16.
